Document code to be provided in the customs declaration when the previous function is an electronic temporary storage declaration

When the previous function in a customs clearance transaction is a temporary storage declaration (TSD) submitted via the Customs Clearance Service or as a message, the previous document must be indicated using code 337.

If, when submitting the customs declaration, you are uncertain what system the previous document was processed in, you can find this out based on the MRN of the previous document. When the previous document has been lodged as a TSD, the fifth character of the MRN will be “E” and the second to last letter “U”. In such cases, the previous document code is 337.

It is important to use the correct code; otherwise, the temporary storage procedure will not be discharged.

In autumn 2023, the previous document codes will be replaced by four-digit numbers. We will provide more information on that later.
