An EORI number is mandatory in export declarations
Declaring an EORI number is obligatory in all export declarations. Exporters, re-exporters and their authorised representatives must have an EORI number for submitting export declarations. Only private persons are not required to have an EORI registration upon submitting export declarations.
Check your company’s EORI number
You can check the validity of your company’s EORI number from the Commission’s EORI number validation service. You can check a Finnish EORI number by entering the country code “FI” and your business ID in the search field. If your company’s EORI number is valid, you do not need to do anything.
How do I apply for an EORI number?
Finnish companies must apply for an EORI number through Customs online services at Applying for an EORI number. You log in to the service using Suomi.fi identification, and you will need the mandate code “Customs clearance” for using the service. Read more about identification and authorisations.
Companies based in other EU member states must apply for an EORI number from their own member state prior to starting export. Companies based outside the EU that do not yet have an EORI number must apply for one in Finland with a form.
