Customs has updated the instruction on entering a secondary preference tariff quota in a Customs declaration. Previously on the page Tariff quotas, customers were instructed to enter the code FIPRE for secondary tariff quota. You can no longer enter the FIPRE code for secondary tariff quota.
However, you can still apply for secondary tariff quota if the goods could not fit in the original tariff quota. An amendment application is submitted either electronically with an amendment request or with an application sent to Customs’ Registry Office.
There is a backlog regarding the processing of amendments at Customs, so the processing of the applications may take longer than usual.
