Did you know that, in spring 2021, importer companies must submit customs declarations on goods that cross the tax border between the Åland Islands and the rest of Finland? Exporters can submit these declarations as representatives of importers. At the same time, changes will become effective in import declarations that companies submit on Union goods that are imported from another EU member state over the tax border to the Åland Islands.

The customs declarations will be renewed in phases. In April 2021, Customs intends to renew import declarations to be submitted by businesses on goods to be released for free circulation, as well as tax border declarations.
