Finnish Customs wishes to remind Norwegian hunters of the European Firearms Pass
If you’re travelling through the state of Finland and you’re transporting a firearm, you need a European Firearms Pass (EFP) and proof of the intended use of the firearm. The documents are to be presented to Finnish Customs.
When travelling with a firearm via Finland, for example when going hunting to the Finnmark area, you need to carry an EFP. In addition, you must have an approved purpose for transporting firearms, such as participating in a competition, or hunting. You must be able to prove the intended use. When transporting a firearm, you can only cross the border at a customs office, where Finnish Customs will check the EFP and the proof of intended use.
Applicable legislation: Regulation (EU) No 258/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council
