Electronic monthly declaration for ship supplies to be deployed in June–October

Publication date 23.2.2026 8.23
Type:Press release

A monthly declaration for ship supplies can be submitted retrospectively, if the declarant has an authorisation for simplification of ship supplies (EIA). The new electronic monthly declaration will be deployed during summer and autumn 2026, and it will replace the current declaration submitted using an Excel file.

Transition period for deploying the new declaration

The new monthly declaration will be introduced on 23 May 2026. After that, declarants have four months to deploy the new declaration. The electronic declaration can be submitted, at the earliest, for May 2026 ship supplies, and it must be submitted, at the latest, for September 2026 ship supplies.

The new monthly declaration can be submitted either in the Customs Clearance Service or via message exchange. For message exchange, customers must apply for the message exchange customer status from Customs. The monthly declaration for ship supplies is submitted with the message FI586.

No changes to the ship supply procedure

The introduction of the electronic declaration will not affect the ship supply procedure. Ship supply declarations are comparable to export declarations and procedures for export are applied to them.

The declaration for individual ship supplies (FI585) was introduced in autumn 2024. No changes are made to this declaration now.
