Finnish Customs aims to deploy the new import declarations on 19 April 2021
Declarations to be submitted by businesses on goods to be released for free circulation are renewed in April 2021. The preliminary target date for the deployment of the new online service on the Customs website is 19 April 2021. After this, companies can submit the renewed customs declarations for import electronically in the customs clearance service or by direct message exchange to the customs clearance system.
Message exchange customers will start using the new declarations between 19 April and 31 May 2021
If your company can migrate to using message exchange in the new customs clearance system, it must
- acquire or update its software
- apply for a new message exchange authorisation and
- test the new messages with Customs.
Message exchange customers will transition to submitting new declarations according to a phased timetable, which is agreed on with Customs. All message exchange customers must start using the new declarations no later than on 31 May 2021. After this, Customs will no longer be receiving import declarations in the old format, when goods are released for free circulation using a standard customs declaration with complete details. The current import declaration service for businesses will only be in use for simplified declarations as well as for declarations on inward processing, end-use and temporary admission.
The deployment date will be confirmed in March
Customs will confirm the actual deployment date of the customs clearance service in March.
You log in to the customs clearance service using Suomi.fi identification and the mandate “Customs clearance”. Declaring electronically requires that both the declarant and the representative has an EORI number.
