The goods item details of the previous document can now be checked in the MRN Search

More details can now be viewed in the MRN Search. In the service, you can search for information on how many goods items the transport document of the previous document contains.

In the MRN Search, you can still check the status of the customs declaration with the help of the MRN (master reference number). The service is intended for various operators in the customs declaration chain who e.g. for the subsequent customs declaration need to know the status of the previous customs declaration.

The service shows the total number of goods items

When you enter the MRN in the service, you can see all the house level transport documents of the declaration and the total number of the goods items in them. You can also see the statuses of the goods items when you choose “Show goods items” in the “Actions” column.

The details are shown when the previous document is one of the following:

• Temporary storage declaration when the consignment has arrived by sea or air from another EU country.
  • In that case, you must enter the transport document identifier in addition to the MRN for the search.
• Entry summary declaration (safety and security declaration) when the consignment has arrived in Finland by sea or air.
  • The service only shows the entry summary declarations presented to Finnish Customs in the Customs Clearance Service or via message exchange (UTU).

Declarants can check the details personally

The new feature is useful to declarants, who can now personally check the transport documents and goods items included in the previous document.

In the subsequent customs declaration, all goods items to be declared must be provided. If all goods items have not been provided, Customs will have to request additional information.

Correct goods item details are also important to temporary storage operators, who can refuse to release the consignment if the details provided in the customs declaration are incorrect.
