Providing the previous document
In declarations for exiting goods, you must provide details of the previous document (previous declaration).
For example, if the goods are at a temporary storage facility at a port or airport, the previous document is the document with which the goods arrived at the temporary storage facility.
Check the codes used for providing previous documents in the code list (on Customs GitHub website).
What details of the previous documents should be provided?
In the declaration, you should provide the following details of the previous document:
- type
- MRN
- goods item number
- in addition, the transport document identifier, if the previous document is an entry summary declaration (N355) or a temporary storage declaration (N337).
The previous document in an exit summary declaration (FI615)
If you are submitting an exit summary declaration (FI615), the previous document type can be one of the following:
- entry summary declaration (ENS) with the code “N355 – Entry summary declaration”
- temporary storage declaration with the code “N337 – Temporary storage declaration”
- transit declaration
- You should first provide the additional information code “FIXTT – The exit summary declaration is preceded by a transit declaration”
- Provide one of the following as the previous document type:
- “N821 – External Union/common transit declaration (T1)”, if an electronic T1 or TIR declaration has been submitted
- “N952 – TIR Carnet”, if no electronic TIR declaration has been submitted
- “N820 – Union/common transit declaration – Mixed consignments (T)”, if the goods arrive under the T2 or T2F transit procedure
- “N820 – Union/common transit declaration – Mixed consignments (T)”, if the transit contains both T1 and T2 goods (so-called mixed consignments)
- export declaration with the code “N830 – Goods declaration for exportation”
- In the Customs Clearance Service, provide the detail in the declaration header details.
- Via message exchange, provide the detail at “Consignment/PreviousDocument”.
You can’t provide the previous document if you use the additional information code “FIXKK – Exit summary declaration for pallets, containers and means of transport carried under a transport contract exiting the customs territory of the EU, DA Article 245(1)(g).”.
The previous document in an exit notification (F590)
If you are submitting an exit notification (FI590), provide one of the following as the previous document type:
- export declaration with the code “N830 – Goods declaration for exportation”
- In the Customs Clearance Service, provide the detail in the declaration header details.
- Via message exchange, provide the detail at “Consignment/PreviousDocument”.
- re-export notification (1MRN) with the code ”1MRN – Declaration/notification MRN”
- exit summary declaration (1MRN) with the code ”1MRN – Declaration/notification MRN”.
The previous document in a re-export notification (FI570)
If you are submitting a re-export notification (FI570), provide one of the following as the previous document type:
- entry summary declaration (ENS) with the code “N355 – Entry summary declaration”
- temporary storage declaration with the code “N337 – Temporary storage declaration”
- transit declaration with one of the following codes:
- “N821 – External Union/common transit declaration (T1)”, if an electronic T1 or TIR declaration has been submitted
- “N952 – TIR Carnet”, if no electronic TIR declaration has been submitted
- “N820 – Union/common transit declaration – Mixed consignments (T)”, if the goods arrive under the T2 or T2F transit procedure
- “N820 – Union/common transit declaration – Mixed consignments (T)”, if the transit contains both T1 and T2 goods (so-called mixed consignments).
