Finnish Customs’ strategy 2025–2029
Customs’ new strategy is driven by changes in the security-related operating environment, international trade and geopolitics as well as the Government’s measures to balance public finances. These form the premise of Customs’ new strategy 2025–2029.
Expectations on Customs increase as the world changes rapidly. Security is Customs’ foremost priority. As the expert of international trade, international traffic and logistics, our concept of security is extensive.
While the focus of our operation has shifted, our statutory duties have not. We prevent non-compliant international traffic by identifying risks based on information. At the same time, we ensure equal conditions of competition and functional customs services for companies that operate lawfully. This way we protect the entire society.
Our new strategy enables us to meet the challenges posed by the changing operational environment.
