The accessibility of the service

The service partly meets the requirements laid down in the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) were used in the accessibility assessment.

The known problems with accessibility

The service still has some usability problems. The recognised problems with accessibility are described below. If you notice a problem in the service that is not included in the list, please contact us.

The following content does not meet the requirements laid down in the Act on the Provision of Digital Services and will be fixed as soon as possible:

  • The user is warned of the connection timeout and is given the opportunity to request additional time. However, for data security reasons the user must be logged out after 12 hours, which means that the accessibility requirements concerning time limits are not completely fulfilled. (WCAG 2.2.1)
  • The anchor links to the form Request for amendment of company office details are deployed in list format, but the list attribute is hidden from screen reader users (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • The keyboard focus indicator slightly covers the text of the focused Edit button, and the focus indicator is not visible at all for table header buttons (WCAG 1.4.3, 2.4.7).
  • The company information is listed as key-value pairs, the structure of which in not programmatically relayed to screen reader users (WCAG 1.3.1).
  • The link Go to the request form for amending contact details opens in a new tab and has been marked visually, with an icon. However, this functionality is not programmatically communicated to screen reader users (WCAG 1.1.1, 2.4.4).
  • The calendar elements opening from the date fields do not scale to be fully visible on the required 320 CSS pixel screen (WCAG 1.4.10).
  • An incorrect header level is used for the header “Extensions” on the page “Trader office details” (WCAG 1.3.1).
  • The service has dynamic error messages, such as a status message on the failure of uploading CBAM goods data and a status message on the failure of updating e-invoice data, which are not communicated to screen readers without shifting focus (WCAG 4.1.3).
  • Status message on clearing the date fields by the Clear button when uploading CBAM goods data is not communicated to screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3).
  • The Start date and End date fields for uploading CBAM data opens a calendar element when focusing on these fields, which cannot be closed without shifting focus. The calendar element supports the use of keyboard and screen readers, but some of the accessible names of the functional elements are in English in all language versions, and the user does not receive a status message on successful selection of a date. Additionally, the date format guideline (dd.mm.yyyy) is not provided nor is an error message of it being required presented, if user attempts to upload data without filling in the date fields (WCAG 1.4.13, 2.4.6, 3.3.2, 3.3.3, 4.1.3).
