Payment deferment authorisation
With a payment deferment authorisation (DPO), the goods can be released before the payment of import charges. The condition for a payment deferment authorisation is a valid comprehensive guarantee authorisation and any related guarantee.
A company that holds a comprehensive guarantee authorisation and a payment deferment authorisation has around five weeks to pay the customs invoice. In such a case, an amount corresponding to the customs debt is reserved from the comprehensive guarantee for import in conjunction with customs clearance. The reserved amount is released when the company pays its customs debt.
