Finnish Customs’ main duties are related to societal sustainability and strongly linked with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Finnish Customs promotes smooth trade in goods, ensures accurate goods transactions, provides customer-oriented services, supports fair competition among companies, and protects society, the environment and citizens. Finnish Customs also levies import taxes and fees effectively.
Sustainability permeates Finnish Customs’ strategy. We want to increase social impact, adhere to the principles of sustainable development and reduce our environmental impact. Our operations also embody equality, equity and diversity in working life. We invest in our personnel’s competences and cooperation with educational institutes. We aim to provide accessible, unobstructed services. We manage our environmental impacts using the EcoCompass environmental management system and develop our operations further.
