The first quarterly price of CBAM certificates for 2026 has been published

Importers have to buy a number of CBAM certificates that corresponds to the emissions of the imported CBAM goods. The number of certificates to be purchased is based on the embedded emissions of imported CBAM goods, with one CBAM certificate corresponding to one tonne of CO2e of emissions.

On 7 April 2026, the Commission published the first quarterly price of CBAM certificates for 2026 on its website. The price of one certificate is 75,36 euros.

In 2026, the prices of certificates for each quarter will be calculated based on the EU ETS auction clearing prices. The price will be calculated during the first week of the following quarter and published on the first working day of the following week.
