Export declarations were incorrectly invalidated – submit a new export declaration if needed
Customs’ system has incorrectly invalidated export declarations 90 days after the release, if no certification of exit has been provided for them. The system should have sent a request for additional information about the missing exit certification. The error occurred in conjunction with an update on 22 November 2025.
The error was resolved on 2 December 2025, and no erroneous invalidations of export declarations have since been sent out.
Submit a new export declaration retrospectively
It is not possible to cancel the erroneous invalidations, nor can decisions on release with certification of exit be generated for the invalidated declarations. If your export declaration was invalidated, you must submit a new export declaration.
You should submit the new export declaration as a retrospective export declaration. Provide the following details in the declaration:
- Select R as the declaration type.
- Provide the actual date of export when the goods exited the EU.
- As the type of location, provide “Designated location” (code A). The qualifier of location is “V – Customs office code” and the code “FI002002 – Electronic Service Centre, export”.
- Attach the export documents and the alternative proof of exit to the new export declaration.
