All border crossing points for road traffic at the eastern border closed again as of 20.00 on 15 December
The Government has decided to close all the border crossing points again, since the instrumented entry has continued. This decision will take effect today on 15 December 2023 at 20.00.
The border crossing points of Vaalimaa and Niirala will be closed again for both goods and passenger traffic. The border crossing points of Imatra, Kuusamo, Nuijamaa, Raja-Jooseppi, Salla and Vartius will also remain closed. The freight train traffic in Vainikkala will continue. The Government made this decision on 14 December 2023, and it will remain in force until the end of Sunday, 14 January 2024.
