Additional customs duties on imports of certain products originating in the United States from 1 May 2023

Since 1 May 2005, an additional import duty has been payable on certain products imported from the United States to the EU. The European Commission reviews annually the rate of additional import duty and the products it shall be imposed on.

From 1 May 2023, the additional duty is an ad valorem duty of 0.164%. It is payable on products classified under the following CN codes:

• 0710 40 00 Sweetcorn
• 6204 62 31 Women's or girls' trousers and breeches, other than industrial and occupational, of denim
• 8705 10 00 Crane lorries
• ex 9003 19 00 Frames and mountings for spectacles, goggles or the like, and parts thereof, of base metal.
