The introduction of the final MIGs for export will be delayed
New export declarations were introduced on 5 October 2024 and after that, message declarants have observed the EU’s transition period MIGs (message implementing guidelines) and rules when submitting export declarations to the Customs Clearance System (UTU). The plan was to introduce the final rules on 11 February 2025.
The introduction of the EU’s final MIGs will, however, be delayed. At the moment, it is not known when the final MIGs will be introduced. Customs will provide more information on the matter in due course. For the time being, message declarants will continue to use the current transition period MIGs and rules.
Customs will provide more information in due course on when software developers can, with Customs, test the declaration messages submitted using the final rules.
