Finnish Customs has started a preliminary enquiry regarding the cable damage in the Gulf of Finland

                     The Estlink 2 power transmission cable was damaged in the Baltic Sea on 25 December 2024. The suspect in the case is the cargo ship Eagle S which is carrying fuel and sailing under the Cook Islands flag. Finnish Customs has started a preliminary enquiry in the case, suspecting an aggravated regulation offence.
Customs has detained the fuel carried by the ship and is conducting a preliminary enquiry into a possible aggravated regulation offence.
Customs will release more information as soon as the preliminary enquiry is finished.
