Mariehamn Customs’ customer service switches to service by appointment on 1 July 2026
Customer service at Finnish Customs in Mariehamn will change on Wednesday, 1 July, 2026. As of then, visits to Mariehamn Customs will be by appointment only.

- Service hours: Monday–Friday, 12:00–16:15.
- Visits by appointment only.
- Please book your appointment primarily at least 24 hours in advance.

Electronic customs services have become a popular and effective way of transacting with Customs. However, in-person visits are still necessary in certain situations, and therefore have been retained. In several locations, Finnish Customs has adopted a service model where appointments are booked in advance according to the customer’s needs. Based on assessments, the smooth flow of commercial traffic can also be ensured when customer service is provided by appointment only.
The new appointment system enables Customs to allocate resources and focus more on its security authority duties, whose importance has increased in recent years. We monitor our customers’ service time needs closely at different locations and will adapt our service if necessary.
