Latest about CBAM Accreditation and verification
If emissions data based on actual values are used in the annual declaration on CBAM goods, the data must be verified by an accredited CBAM verifier.
The verifier applies for accreditation in the EU country in which it is established. If there is no national accreditation body in the applicant's own EU country, it is possible to apply for accreditation in another EU country. If the applicant is not established in the EU, accreditation can be applied for from any national accreditation body that also provides accreditation to applicants outside the EU.
Check EA’s directory of National Accreditation Bodies. The directory separately lists the accreditation bodies that accredit non EU applicants.
Accreditation in Finland
National accreditation bodies must accredit verifiers. Finland’s national accreditation body is the Finnish Accreditation Service (FINAS), the accreditation unit of the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes). Read more about the services offered by FINAS.
The Finnish Accreditation Service (FINAS) has surveyed verifiers’ interest in CBAM accreditation. So far, Finnish verifier organisations have not expressed interest in this.
