Importers of CBAM goods: Do you need authorised CBAM declarant status as of next year? Submit your application as soon as possible

The obligations for importing CBAM goods will change as of the beginning of 2026. From then on, you can import more than 50 tonnes of CBAM goods a year only if you have a valid authorised CBAM declarant status or if an application for an authorisation submitted by 31 March 2026 is pending with Customs. 

It is crucial to apply for the authorisation in time in order to ensure that the import is not unauthorised.
