Type:Press release

In the future, the 10-digit commodity code according to the TARIC nomenclature must be provided in the customs declaration for customs warehousing. You can currently provide the 6, 8 or 10-digit commodity code.

You can already provide the 10-digit commodity code, and we will provide more information when this becomes mandatory. If you are a message declarant, you should check with your software developer whether the software requires changes.

You can check the data requirements of the customs warehousing declaration in message implementing guidelines for import by choosing “Customs warehousing (FI413B & FI415B)” from the filter menu.

Provision of the commodity code is based on Annex B to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2015/2446 (UCC DA) specifying that the 10-digit commodity code is to be used in the customs warehousing declaration.
