Press release

Union goods arriving in Finland for which proof of Union status has been obtained from the EU’s Proof of Union Status (PoUS) system are to be presented to Finnish Customs. From 25 May 2024, the goods are to be presented by submitting a presentation notification in the Customs Clearance Service or as a message (FI332).

As a response, the submitter of the presentation notification will receive the notification “Import of goods is allowed” in the Customs Clearance Service or as a message (FI329). The submitter of the notification may also be notified by Customs of a possible inspection upon entry.

You will also be able to use Customs’ service MRN Search to check if the Union goods arriving in Finland have already been presented. To do this, you will need the MRN issued for the proof of Union status.

At the moment, the MRN issued for electronically declared proof of Union status is provided in the Proof of Union Status (PoUS) system. In future, arriving Union goods can no longer be presented in this service.
