Change in the application for authorisations for exemption from customs duty and exceptional permits as of 18 November 2023
Earlier, it was possible to apply for relief from customs duty and exceptional permits using a form or with a free-form application. From now on, relief from customs duty and exceptional permits must also be applied for via the Authorisations and Decisions Service.
To log in to the service, you need Suomi.fi authorisation and a valid EORI number. If you are applying as a private individual, log in to the service with your Finnish online banking ID codes, your mobile certificate or your certificate card.
Advance import permit for removal goods no longer used
If you are moving and you wish to bring removal goods to Finland prior to your move, it is no longer necessary to apply for an advance import licence. From now on, the guarantee is reserved and the relief from customs duty is granted based on the information provided in the customs declaration, if the conditions are met. Please note that if the import of removal goods requires an exceptional permit, the person moving must apply for this permit before submitting the customs declaration.
Details to be provided in the customs declaration
Relief from customs duty and exceptional permits must be declared using new additional document codes. Enter the relief from customs duty and the exceptional permit like this in the customs declaration:
- Enter the relief from customs duty using the additional document code “9TAT –relief from customs duty” in the field for additional documents at goods item level. Enter the number of the authorisation as description (e.g. FITATL23456 or FILUJA12345).
- Enter the exceptional permit using the additional document code “9TAP– exception” in the field for additional documents at goods item level. Enter the number of the exceptional permit as description (e.g. FITAPL26354 or FILUJA12345).
