Are you importing cultural goods from outside the territory of the EU? Complete your customs declaration correctly

If you are importing cultural goods subject to import regulation (EU) 2019/880 from outside the EU after 28 June 2025, you should indicate it in your customs declaration. Customs published a customer notice about the changes on 19 May 2025.

Provide additional information in your customs declaration on cultural goods

If you are importing cultural goods referred to in the Regulation, be sure to indicate it in your customs declaration. Additional information to be provided in a customs declaration depends on for example the item’s age and value, and whether cultural items are under temporary admission or released into free circulation.

Changes to commodity codes of cultural goods

The commodity code classifications of cultural goods have been specified with new codes for declarations. Some of the old commodity codes will no longer be used. You can use new commodity codes in declarations as of 28 June 2025.

Indicate carefully the commodity code of the cultural goods to imported, so that there will be no unnecessary interruptions in processing your declaration.
