Value information must be provided in the simplified customs declaration

Publication date 7.7.2023 11.49
Press release

There have been changes to declaring the value information of goods, and these changes also affect the simplified import declarations. From now on, only one value detail is to be provided in simplified customs declarations. Provide this detail in the Customs Clearance Service under “Transaction price” or with a message under “Value of the goods item”.

In the simplified declaration, you can provide the value of the goods as an estimate that you can change in the supplementary customs declaration. The estimate must, however, be based on the actual value of the goods. As the estimate, you can use the average price of the goods or the computed value of the goods, which is based e.g. on the commercial contract or on earlier purchases.

Please note that in customs declarations for special procedures, the actual value of the goods must always be provided already in the simplified declaration.
