Request amendment of an export declaration only after the Arrival at Exit notification has been submitted
Customs has made changes to the processing rules for export declarations on 21 November 2024. From now on, the Arrival at Exit notification is rejected if the export declaration is being processed by Customs, e.g. due to an amendment request. Previously, the Arrival at Exit notification was accepted in situations like this, but Customs didn’t grant a loading permit until the request for amendment of the export declaration had been processed.
Submitting the rejected Arrival at Exit notification again
If you have requested amendment of an export declaration and the request is being processed, the submitter of the Arrival at Exit notification will be notified that the Arrival at Exit notification has been rejected. The submitter of the notification must contact the exporter separately to find out when the amendment of the export declaration has been completed. Only after this can the notification be submitted again.
Therefore, amendment of an export declaration should only be requested after an Arrival at Exit notification has been submitted.
The submitter of the export declaration can check in Customs’ service whether the Arrival at Exit notification has been submitted
Check in Customs’ MRN Search, whether an Arrival at Exit notification has been submitted for the export declaration you have submitted to Finnish Customs. If it has been submitted, “Arrived at the place of exit” is displayed as the status of the export declaration. Then you can make an amendment request.
You can also check the status of the export declaration in the EU’s MRN Follow-up (Export & Transit). The details of an Arrival at Exit notification submitted in Finland are updated in the EU’s service with a delay of a couple of hours.
