Please check what country or area the goods you ordered will be delivered from, and whether you have to declare your parcel.
Be sure to keep the order confirmation, invoice or receipt you receive from the seller. You will need one of these when declaring the consignment.
If your consignment must be declared, Posti will notify you about it. The notification is usually shown in the item tracking service. The notification can be an electronic notification, a text message or a letter.
If you don’t declare your consignment and pay the customs duties due within the given time limit, Posti will return the consignment to the sender. Posti will notify you of the time limit.
Remember that Posti will not deliver the cleared parcel before you have paid the handling fee to Posti. If the customs clearance does not involve any payments, Posti will not charge a handling fee either. You will find instructions on what to do in Posti’s arrival notice.
In your customs declaration, remember to indicate the handling fee that you have paid to Posti. The handling fee will be added to the amount based on which VAT is calculated.
Once your consignment has been cleared through Customs and the customs duties are paid, Posti will deliver the consignment to you or you can pick it up from a location indicated by Posti. However, do check the arrival notice to see if you are required to submit the decision on release for the cleared goods to Posti before the consignment can be delivered to you.
