Exports increased by 20 per cent in July
According to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods provided by Finnish Customs, the value of Finnish exports increased by 20 per cent and the value of imports by 17 per cent in July year-on-year. The value of Finnish exports in July was almost 4.7 billion euros and the value of imports was slightly under five billion euros. Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports have increased by 16 per cent and imports by 14 per cent.
The trade balance showed a deficit of 300 million euros in July. Calculated from January to July there was a deficit of 1.2 billion euros. Under the same period last year, the balance of trade showed a deficit of 1.5 billion euros. Last year the trade balance for July showed a deficit of 334 million euros.
Exports to EU member states increased by 27 per cent and exports to non-EU countries by ten per cent in July. Imports from EU-countries increased by nine per cent and imports from non-EU countries by 31 per cent in July. Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports to EU increased by 17 per cent and to non-EU countries by 14 per cent. During the same period imports from EU member states increased by eight per cent and from other countries by 25 per cent.
