New names for Customs’ e-services

As part of the upcoming changes to customs declarations, the names of Customs’ e-services will also change. The new names will be introduced on 19 April 2021.

Customs Clearance Service

A part of the Import Declaration Service for businesses (ITU) will be merged with the Customs Warehousing Declaration Service to form one service called the Customs Clearance Service (UTU). 

In this service, you can submit

  • import declarations for goods to be released for free circulation
  • tax border declarations (Åland)
  • customs warehousing declarations. 

Import declarations for businesses – special procedures

Some of the import declarations will continue to be submitted to the old Import Declaration Service for businesses (ITU), which will be renamed as Import declarations for businesses – special procedures

In this service, you can submit import declarations on  

  • inward processing 
  • temporary admission 
  • end use. 

The service also displays the import declarations that were submitted to the Import Declaration Service for businesses before 19 April 2021. The processing of unfinished import declarations submitted before this date to the old service will be completed in the service Import declarations for businesses – special procedures.

Recapitulative statements for tax border customers

The new name of the Åland Tax Border Declaration Service (ALA) is Recapitulative statements for tax border customers. Tax border customers can submit recapitulative statements via this service. 

The national tax border declarations lodged by businesses for goods carried between Åland and mainland Finland are to be submitted to the Customs Clearance Service.
