Expanded scope of accreditation for the Customs Laboratory

In its decision of 11 September 2018, the Finnish Accreditation Service FINAS stated that the activities of the Customs Laboratory meets the requirements of the SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard.

With FINAS’ decision, the Customs Laboratory’s scope of accreditation expanded to include six more methods. The new accredited methods are determination of listeria, food improvements, magnesium and nickel in food, determination of iodine in seaweed, determination of migration of primary aromatic amines in food contact material and expansion of the method for detection and quantitative determination of Illegal drugs, medicine and doping. Furthermore, as a result of the assessment, several methods were changed, the method references of the the scope of accreditation was updated and the humidity determination method was removed from the scope of accreditation.

The current valid scope of accreditation of the Customs Laboratory is available on the website of the Finnish Accreditation Service FINAS.
