Now you can use our MRN Search to check the status of customs declarations

Press release

Customs provides support to declarants with a new search service. Using our MRN Search, you can check the status of declarations concerning export, safety and security, and customs warehousing.

In the chain of declarations on arriving goods, the person who lodges the customs declaration must submit the declaration reference MRN (Master Reference Number) to the person lodging the next customs declaration. By entering the MRN from the Safety and Security Declaration system (MRN of the AREX declaration) in the service, you can see if the goods have already been presented to Customs and if they can be cleared. You can also see the type of the customs declaration lodged. In the new customs clearance system, the type of the previous document must be provided in customs warehousing declarations; for example, if the document is an entry summary declaration or summary declaration.

You can use the MRN Search to check if the export goods have already arrived at the place of exit or have already exited the EU. The MRN Search also shows details on export goods that exit Finland directly to a territory outside the EU.

The service shows the following customs declarations:

  • export declarations lodged in the EU, where Finland is either the export country or the country of exit,
  • entry summary declarations and summary declarations in Finland’s Safety and Security Declaration System (AREX),
  • customs warehousing declarations lodged into the new customs clearance system (UTU).

You can find the MRN Search in the e-services of Customs.
