Publication date 1.12.2020 12.00
Press release

Import declarations submitted by businesses to Customs will be renewed in phases. At the first stage in April 2021, our aim is to renew standard-format customs declarations on goods to be released for free circulation, as well as tax border declarations. The second stage of the renewal which was planned to take place in late 2021 is to postponed to spring 2022. At that time, declarations on special procedures and simplified declarations will be renewed.

The following declarations on special procedures will be renewed: the declarations for inward processing, temporary admission and end-use. Simultaneously, the new customs procedure code 44 will be taken into use in end-use declarations.

The following simplified declarations will be renewed:

  • in periodic declaration, electronic simplified declarations specific to each means of transport, which will replace the current releases with the consignment note
  • individual simplified declarations (two-stage customs clearances)
  • new electronic presentation notifications required of the holders of the EIR authorisation, that is, former holders of the authorisation for local clearance at import.

All supplementary declarations relating to the above-mentioned declarations will be renewed at the same time.

Message declarants must test the new declaration messages with Customs

Message declarants must update their declarations and test them with Customs. Customs aims to publish the message descriptions for the declarations, that is, message specifications about a year before the new declarations are deployed.
