All AEO applications to become electronic as of 16 December 2019

Publication date 5.12.2019 8.15
Press release

Since the start of October, all applications concerning new AEO authorisations are sent through the eAEO Trader Portal which is part of the EU’s transaction services. The deployment of the eAEO Trader Portal will enter its second phase on 16 December 2019. This means that all new applications and amendment requests concerning AEO authorisations must be submitted electronically  in the future. After 16 December, paper forms can only be used in fallback procedures.

In order to log in to the eAEO Trader Portal, Suomi.fi identification and/or authorisation is required. A company’s managing director or any other person with the right to sign for the company must mandate the person responsible for the company’s authorisations. Only one authorisation is used in the eAEO Trader Portal, that is, applying for authorisations for customs operations. With this authorisation you can browse, prepare and apply for a new AEO authorisation. The authorisation is also used when applying for amendments to an existing AEO authorisation.

User guides for the Trader Portal for eAEO will be published later on the Finnish Customs website. For the time being, the service does not support the Internet Explorer 11 browser.
