Classification by Broad Economic Categories

The BEC classification (Classification by Broad Economic Categories) is a goods classification of foreign trade statistics. The classification correlates the goods to macroeconomic categories (capital goods, intermediates goods, and consumer goods).

Each of the 3,121 SITC headings is correlated to one of the nineteen BEC basic heading.
