Repairs, maintenance and replacements under warranty
If you want to export goods outside the EU or the fiscal territory of the EU for repairs, maintenance or replacement under warranty, you should submit an export declaration before sending the goods. Detailed instructions are available at repairs, maintenance and replacements.
You can submit the export declaration free of charge using Customs’ Export Declaration Service.
When you get your repaired or exchanged goods back, you have to declare them. In the declaration service, indicate if the goods were repaired in return for payment, replaced free of charge under warranty or repaired free of charge under warranty.
When goods are returned to you after repairs subject to a charge, you pay the import duties only on the repair costs, on any added parts and on the sending costs, not on the total value of the goods. The requirement is that you have a sufficient clarification on sending the goods for repair.
When goods are returned to you free of charge after repairs or replacement under warranty, you don’t have to pay any import duties if you haven’t incurred any sending costs. The requirement is that you have a sufficient clarification on sending the goods for repair.
For example, a postal package shipping ID or an export declaration reference number (MRN) are sufficient clarifications.
