Using our online services

In Finnish Customs’ online services, you can submit customs declarations, apply for authorisations and find information that you need for declarations and applications.

Most of the services require identification. As an identified user you can, for example, save a declaration and use it again later. You can check in the descriptions of the services whether you need to identify yourself or not.

he online services of Finnish Customs are free of charge and customs declarations are processed 24/7. We also offer user support.

Instructions for the online services

In the services, there are links to separate instructions and user guides, as well as tooltips for the different fields. All the services and instructions have been published in Finnish and Swedish; some are also available in English.

Get information in advance

Using the services is easier if you have all the necessary information at hand. When submitting a customs declaration, for example, you need detailed information about your goods. If the import or export of your goods requires authorisations, you must have them when submitting your declaration.

The commodity code determines the duty rates and other charges that are levied on the goods as well as other possible requirements and import restrictions. You can search for the commodity code e.g. in the Commodity Code Service Fintaric or in the EU TARIC database. Read more: Commodity codes

Using a representative

A representative can be used for all transactions. The user can log in to the Service using Suomi.fi identification and mandate another party to transact on their behalf under the Suomi.fi authorisation. Read more: How to identify yourself and grant mandates

Other service alternatives

If you can’t use the Customs online service, for example, if you can’t identify yourself electronically, you can use alternative ways to declare. For example, electronic authorisation applications can’t be submitted on another company’s behalf.

There are no alternative methods for submitting Intrastat declarations. Statistical declarations must always be submitted electronically.
