Comprehensive guarantee reservation status

In the “My details” service, you can check your company’s comprehensive guarantee reservation status. The share reserved from the guarantee is displayed as a percentage figure.

The following are included in the reserved guarantee:

  • guarantee reservations upon customs clearance for release into free circulation, inward processing and temporary admission
  • long-term guarantee reservations for customs warehousing authorisations, temporary warehousing authorisations and end-use authorisations.

Example

A customer company has a comprehensive guarantee authorisation, customs warehousing authorisation, and a payment deferment authorisation.

The company has submitted a comprehensive guarantee of 10 000 euros to Customs. Of this guarantee, 7 000 euros is available for reservations involving release into free circulation. The guarantee reservation for customs warehousing is 3 000 euros.

If no amounts are reserved from the guarantee for release into free circulation, the reserved share of the comprehensive guarantee is 30 %, that is, only the amount of 3 000 euros reserved for the customs warehousing authorisation. As a result, 7 000 euros of the comprehensive guarantee is still available.

If, in addition to the 3 000 euros reserved for the customs warehousing authorisation, the amount of 1 200 euros has been reserved from the guarantee for release into free circulation, the share reserved from the comprehensive guarantee is 42 % ((3 000 € + 1 200 €) / 10 000 € x 100). The amount of 5 800 euros is available from the comprehensive guarantee.

Points to consider

In the customs procedure of release into free circulation, the amount corresponding to the customs debt is reserved from the comprehensive guarantee in connection with customs clearance. The reservation is valid for about five weeks and is released when the debt is paid.

If there is not a sufficient amount of guarantee available for a new guarantee reservation, customs clearance as a credit customer is not possible.

If the comprehensive guarantee is not sufficient for customs clearance, you can proceed as follows:

Use a representative for customs clearance:

You can contact a forwarding agency and ask them to take care of your customs clearance as an indirect representative, or as a direct representative with the responsibility of a guarantor.
