Press release

In the future, attachments to customs declarations can be sent through the attachment service as direct message exchange.

The new service makes it possible to send import and export declaration attachments with a message.

The customer’s system first sends the customs declaration through the Upload- operation directly to the message exchange. The direct message exchange gives an individual code to a message that has been successfully uploaded (MessageStorageld). The code will then be received by the customer’s system through the Upload-operation. The customer’s system then sends the declaration message attachments one by one and provides the uploaded code of the declaration message along with the attachment message.

The test automation service gives Customs’ customers the possibility to do direct message exchange testing irrespective of time and place. With the test automation service, Customs’ customers are expected to be able to test their own systems independently against the customs interface and to verify that their systems can correctly produce the messages to be sent to Customs, and also handle the reply messages from Customs.

The attachment message service and the test automation service will be piloted with Customs' customers during the spring and summer of 2017. The aim of the piloting is to gather feedback and suggestions for development regarding both systems.

If your company is interested in participating in the piloting of the attachment message service and the test automation service with us, then contact us by email on irene.m.lahtinen(at)tulli.fi, no later than 8 March 2017.
