Operator-based message exchange with Customs will end in 2020

Publication date 18.12.2017 9.14
Press release

Finnish Customs will stop supporting operator-based message exchange before the end of 2020 in the following systems: import (ITU), export (ELEX), transit (NCTS), summary declarations (AREX) and declarations of intra-EU trade (Intrastat). Nowadays, operator-based message exchange is used only by a very small group of Customs’ message exchange customers. These customers or their operators have to change over from operator-based message exchange to direct message exchange in time, but no later than during 2020.

Customs has earlier published several customer notices about the matter. Use the links below for guidance on changing over to direct message exchange.

Businesses are advised to start using direct message exchange as soon as possible in order to avoid queues for customer testing. Changing over to direct message exchange well in advance will also facilitate future customer testing for the UTU system.
