Finnish Customs introduces the tariff information service Fintaric today, 1 October 2018. The service is available to everyone. In Fintaric, you can search for the commodity code required for the customs declaration as well as for the restrictions and taxes concerning the commodity code.
In addition to the information from the EU Taric database, Fintaric shows the national Finnish taxes and restrictions. Fintaric is intended for employees of companies, who need information about commodity codes in their daily work and have basic knowledge of tariff classification.
Fintaric also has a calculation section where you can estimate the amounts of customs duties and taxes for the goods. It will be supplemented in connection with the import declaration reform.
Later on, Fintaric will entirely replace the Finnish Customs Tariff, which is published on the Customs website and which, for now, can be used alongside Fintaric. You can already print the customs tariff sections you need from Fintaric.
You can find Fintaric on the main page for the e-services of Finnish Customs, and the service does not require identification. Fintaric is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
Later on, the information in Fintaric will also be provided in machine-readable format through a distribution service. We will inform of the introduction of the distribution service separately.
Fintaric is the first part of an extensive reform of the customs clearance system.
