When transporting containers owned by another party against payment under a transport contract, transport companies must submit an entry summary declaration for such containers or other empty means of transport.
In such cases, the tare weight of the container or other means of transport must be provided in the safety and security data declaration, that is, in the entry summary declaration that is lodged to the AREX system. From 1 October 2016, Customs’ system will reject any declarations where the gross weight is provided as 0 (zero).
