Exports increased by 14 per cent in November
According to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods provided by Finnish Customs, the value of Finnish exports increased by 14 per cent and the value of imports by 13 per cent in November year-on-year. The value of Finnish exports in November was 5.2 billion euros and the value of imports was slightly under 5,5 billion euros. Calculated from January to November, exports have increased by 16 per cent and imports by 14 per cent year-on-year.
The trade balance showed a deficit of 240 million euros in November. Calculated from January to November there was a deficit of 2.1 billion euros. Under the same period 2016, the balance of trade showed a deficit of 2.6 billion euros. In the year 2016 the trade balance for November showed a deficit of 256 million euros.
Exports to EU member states increased by 15 per cent in November and exports to non-EU countries by 13 per cent. Imports from EU-countries increased by 12 per cent and imports from non-EU countries by 15 per cent in November. Calculated from the beginning of the year, exports to EU increased by 17 per cent and to non-EU countries by 13 per cent. During the same period imports from EU member states increased by ten per cent and from other countries by 20 per cent.
