Press release

A new service for sending notifications about service interruptions in Customs’ electronic systems was introduced on 1 November 2015. As of 1 July 2016, Customs will also use this new service for informing customers of disruptions in the Customs Authorisations service.

A disruption notice is a notice about unscheduled downtime. The introduction of the new service for sending notices will change the appearance of the notices and improve their readability on different devices.

Changes for current customers of the service

Customers of the Customs Authorisations service can subscribe to the new interruption and disruption notices on the Finnish Customs website under eServices.

The administration of subscription information will be transferred to the subscriber. In the new service, the subscription address can be changed or the subscription can be cancelled by clicking the link “If you wish to cancel your subscription, click here” at the end of the message. If you have subscribed to interruption and disruption notices for more than one system, you only need to change the subscription address or cancel the subscription once by clicking on the link in one of the messages. The service identifies all interruption and disruption notices that you have subscribed to.

Help us improve our services

We are currently developing our electronic systems and gathering information on user experiences. In the subscription form for interruption and disruption notices, Customs asks customers if they wish to receive information on for example customer questionnaires.

Current subscribers can agree to this by clicking the link at the end of the message. Once you have opened the form, you can tick the box “The e-mail address I submitted can be used to send questionnaires for improving Customs’ services and other questionnaires concerning customers and interest groups”.
