The survey lists goods which have been produced outside of Finland and exported from Finland, and indicates their share of the overall export according to commodity group.

Re-export can be divided into two categories based on customs treatment:

  1. Temporary import of goods into the country for storage e.g. in a customs warehouse, for repair or processing. There is little of this type of re-export which is defined by EU regulations.
  2. Re-export of goods manufactured abroad and imported to Finland. The said goods can change owners in Finland or they can be stored, re-packaged and possibly furnished with, for example, user instructions. However, the essential nature of the goods and their CN commodity code do not change during their handling.
