For what purpose are goods imported?

The most common import procedure is release of goods into free circulation. Other possible import procedures are the following:

  • Temporary admission
  • End-use
  • Inward processing
  • import of goods from outward processing.

In addition, goods can also be placed under the storage procedure and transit procedure.

Different codes are entered in customs declarations for indicating the procedure under which the goods are placed.
